06 Apr What kind of challenges do yoga teachers face right now?
We all have been through a lot in the past couple of years, and so have our students. The challenges and obstacles that we experience now might be very different from three years ago. What are they? Are there particular challenges you would like to discuss? Would you like to hear how other teachers/therapists deal with similar concerns?
Join us for a one-hour event at Sequence Wiz community moderated by Olga Kabel. The event is free to attend and is open to Sequence Wiz members. We had a chance to chat about the current state of our profession and get different perspectives on what it takes to teach yoga and provide yoga therapy at this moment in time. We separated the discussion into three distinct categories: organizational, group classes, and private work challenges.
Organizational challenges stem from the choices you make regarding your teaching arrangements: Where do you teach? How many hours per day? Virtually or in-person? Individually or in groups? How are these organizational challenges different now from two-three years ago? Which of those challenges do you have a hard time resolving?
Group class challenges reflect the issues that pop up in your group classes: How many students attend your classes? Are you happy with those numbers? Do your students get along with one another? Is there agreement on the questions of vaccination, mask-wearing, and other pandemic-related factors?
Private work challenges show up in sessions with our private yoga clients: Do people see the value of yoga and yoga therapy? Do they face the same or different issues as before? How do clients feel about their home yoga practice? Are there any other issues or concerns that arise in your work together?
This event took place on April 21, 2022.
